Jandellyn & Johnathan Ward

Jan & John have been participating in art & garden shows since 1997. As John's artistic adventures gained speed, Jan joined him full-time in 2004. Their functional art pieces are made mostly of mild steel, and and the back of the plasma cut pieces have a rough finish--the slag is not removed. 

If pieces are not coated with any lacquer or powder coating finish, they weather & rust nicely.
At the outset, pieces are either brushed, new steel--lending a grey color--or already have a rich, rust appearance. Regardless, all pieces will eventually turn a dark brown rust color.

 Besides the active show & festival circuit annually, Jan & John have works in seven Northwest galleries. In addition to the pieces available at any of those venues, custom work may also be commissioned--arbors, fences, railings, etc. To find out more, you can find them on their website, Winfield Designs.

Jandellyn & Johnathan Ward

  Jan & John design & create functional art pieces for the home & garden. Each piece is created from new & recycled steel--which is cut, ground & formed into components that are welded. Although steel is the primary medium, works also include aluminum, copper, stainless, brass, fused glass & cast cement components of their own design.

The couple participate in about 25 art festivals annually and both feel right at home on the art 'circuit'. John "grew up in a family of artists" & accompanied his dad to festivals when he sold wooden toys.
Jan also went to art festivals with her mom until she graduated from high school. "I grew up with a family of seamstresses. My mother taught me a lot about designing & building works of art from fabrics." It would seem art has become a family tradition, as Jan & John's two young children now accompany them throughout the Pacific Northwest.
